Which artist did the song "Black Horse And The Cherry Tree"
Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall wrote and

Who sings the song "1984"? It has words about 1984. Talking
about Blondie, Madonna, Nirvana, ETC
.
The song is actually "1985" which is
by Bowling For Soup. The chorus goes ...
Bruce Springstein, Madonna
way before Nirvana
there was U2 and Blondie
and music still on MTV
her two kids in high school
they tell her that she's uncool
but she still preoccupies
with 19, 19, 1985

My mother used to sing a song which I think was from the Music Hall
era that went " Joshua, Joshua, sweeter than lemon squash you are"
. Do you know the complete version. Any ideas?
The song Joshua.. as with many old music hall
songs, may vary from artist to artist and with time.
"JOSHUA"
Joshua, Joshua,
Why don't you call and see Mama,
She'll be pleased to know
You are my best beau.
Joshua, Joshua,
Sweeter than lemon squash you are.
Yes, by gosh you are,
Joshu-oshu-a."

Does anyone know the title of a 70's Disco song repeating the refrain,
"this time, this time baby, we won't be in and out of love, in

The song you are looking for is "This Time

Play chart, it also inspired the 2005 Dance radio and club hit "Love
On My Mind" by the Freemasons featuring Amanda Wilson.

who did liam gallagher of oasis say was a has been at the 1996 brit
awards?? i am not sure if they were a presenter , or the person they
dissed
It was Noel Gallagher who said.. "Why is
a has-been presenting to the gonna-bes?" to Michael Hutchence,
when Michael presented an award to Oasis, I think maybe, Liam was too
busy taunting Blur band that night.. again!!

Yes, Nik Kershaw played guitar and sang in a number
of bands, 'Thor', "Half Pint Hogg", "Hogg" , and
full-time pro-band "Fusion" . Those are the only ones I know.
From 1982 he concerntrated on his song writing, although I think he
sessioned at different record studios until 1989.

This song was playing in the late 60's or early 70's. A woman on a bus
begins talking to the man seated next to her. I believe this is how
the song begins:
"See this ring? What's it mean to you? Yes, it's pretty. But to
me it just meant true. I'm so sorry for being such a bore. But this
ring and everything mean nothing anymore."
But I don't remember much more than that. I have been asking people
about this song for 20 plus years and so far seem to be the only person
in the world to ever hear it. Amazing. Can you help?
I have another from the same time period that again, no one but me seems
to have heard.
It starts out: You wrote on the corner of the table, "This is the
one that will last." For you, for me, for always. . . . . Chorus:
Don't say you don't remember. I'll never love anyone else. If you say
you don't remember, how can I go on living with myself.
The first of your songs is 'That's Where I Went
Wrong' by Family Poppy featuring Susan Jacks (1970) ... you remembered
the start of the second verse.
Your second song is Beverly Bremers' "Don't Say You Don't Remember,"
which reached #15 in early 1972.

I was wondering if you could help me establish who done the big band
version of Downtown on the soundtrack to Jaws 2 ?
Thanks.
I didn't
think Down Town was on the soundtrack of Jaws 2. However, all the music
on Jaws 2 original soundtrack was arranged / composed by John Williams
who at that time was the Principal Conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra
which played the music.

do you know who plays bass on the Temptations version of "Someday
at Christmas"? I enjoy it a lot, but I haven't been able to find
out. I'm guessing it's either Jamerson or Babbit. Please help.
I think it is Eddie Watkins on most of The Temptations 1970 'Christmas
Card' album. James is only on 2 of the tracks.. 'Let It Snow' and 'Little
Drummer Boy'. Bob Babbitt's first album with the Temptations wasn't
until 1971
with 'Sky's

I have a question who is playing the piano on Marvin Gaye record My
Last Chance? - thanks
My Last Chance was released as a single in 1991,
from "The Marvin Gaye Collection" album, (his 3rd hit after
his death I think) BUT all those tracks were actually recorded between
1970 and 1972. Mr Gaye used to play piano on all his tracks back in
that era... Well most of his recordings. Earl Van Dyke would have been
playing keyboard on it too. Joe Hunter's piano can easily be heard on
Marvin's earlier hits , like Pride and Joy.

You were so helpful with my last request for help that I thought I might
try my luck again.
Five or six years ago I heard a song on a now discontinued Canadian
radio show, Basic Black. I have looked for it ever since. It is a Christmas
song, sort of. At least one of the lines seemed to go something like
this:
My little sister brought her new boyfriend Turns out he's a Mexican.
The song you are looking for is Robert Earl Keen
Jr's .. "Merry Christmas from the Family". Yes it certainly
is a Christmas song.. LOL.. maybe too honest!!! I have sent you more
info in an email.

I am trying to find who recorded a version of "Abide With Me"
in a pop genre. It featured a very strident guitar solo similar in style
to the Carpenters "Goodbye To Love". Also sounded very choral
It could be Amy Grant's rendition of "Abide
With Me" on her 'Rock Of Ages: Hymns & Faith' Album. It is
Carpentery with lovely guitar. I think some of the guitar solos on the
album are played by her husband Vince Gill. Ah also.. "The Inspirational
Choir", they are choral.

I have a version of Keith Washington's "Kissing

This is more up tempo and 'raw'. Absoulutely nothing on the Google Search.
I'd really like to know who this is so I can get an original copy.
Colour Me Badd recorded "Kissing You" on their 1998 'Awakening'
album. It is a little more raw and a slighly more up tempo rendition.

There is a song that is played once in a while
during some commercials. It features a woman's breathy, sexy voice in
Spanish, almost as if she is having sex. Any idea as to her name or
the song's title ? I really don't remember the commercial or context
but it did play in the background.
I am in the U.S. Sorry I can't provide more information.
1) email thinking
it could be Saint Etienne
2) Saint Etienne is a possibility, but what springs to my mind
is Jungle fever by Chakachas. A top 30 hit from 1972. They were Belgian
& it featured heavy breathing and simulated sex.

Quiet a few years ago I saw a television show
in celebration of either diana ross, berry gordy or just a Celebration
of Motown. During the show Kenny G came from the back of the auditorium
and walked onto the stage playing a single note. It was amazing. I would
like to see this performance again. Can you help. I would like to identify
the show and purchase a DVD .
The famous one which I know was televised is Motown's

, but can't find Kenny G in the credits.
Kenny G is on this show, he is at the end when the video/DVD is ending

music/song on that No 7 (or 9) advert where a woman is putting stuff

Well it is definately 'feeding your head' excuse
the pun, LOL ... That 'psychedelic' track is Jefferson Airplane's "White

I've been searching to no avail to find the name of a song. It's played
on all the classic rock stations and it's mostly just a saxaphone doing
the melody/chorus. An electric guitar comes in and takes over at some
point as well. I don't remember if there are any words in the song.
I have attached my interpretation I made on a music making website.
You are listening to the last few minutes of Gerry
Rafferty's "Baker Street" when the verses have finished ..
they bought Raphael Ravenscroft in to play the sax solo, great classic
of 1978.
